David Allen is set to face replacement opponent Scott Saward after his rematch with Commonwealth champion Lenroy Thomas was postponed.

The Doncaster heavyweight had been preparing for a second fight with Thomas on this Saturday's Anthony Joshua-Carlos Takam bill, but the Jamaican failed to make the trip and Allen must focus on a new foe in Cardiff.

Allen hopes the Thomas fight will be rescheduled for the undercard of Tony Bellew's rematch with David Haye at The O2 on December 17, but must first overcome 24-year-old Saward, who has won all three of his professional fights.

"It's been quite tough, the last week to be honest," Allen told Sky Sports. "We're on our way down to Cardiff now and I've just got to be professional. I've got to win on Saturday and roll onto Bellew-Haye II.

"I think you can expect to see a very big man flat on his back. It's always nice to see a very big man get knocked out. I'm looking forward to it.

"I'm only a moderately sized man compared to him, so it will be nice to see a massive guy get chopped down on Saturday."
