Carlos Takam has issued a challenge to Dillian Whyte as he hopes to receive another fight in Britain after his brave defeat to Anthony Joshua.

The France-based Cameroonian was a late replacement opponent for Joshua in October and shared a brutal battle with the WBA 'super' and IBF heavyweight champion before referee Phil Edwards halted the fight in the 10th round in Cardiff.

Following a planned bout in April, Takam again wants to return to these shores and would welcome a fight with Whyte, who is preparing to face Lucas Browne at The O2 on March 24, live on Sky Sports.

"After the fight, maybe I want to come to Britain to fight," Takam exclusively told Sky Sports. "After my fight, I'm going to see what I'm going to do. Maybe I'm going to make one big fight after my fight in April.

"I would like to fight Dillian Whyte, yes."

Asked about Whyte's strengths as an opponent, Takam replied: "That is a question for Dillian Whyte, not for Carlos Takam."

Takam intends to travel back to the Principality Stadium to watch Joshua's unification clash with Joseph Parker on March 31, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

WBO champion Parker also defeated Takam via a hard-fought unanimous decision in 2016 and he holds both champions in high regard.

"Joseph Parker, the guy has speed, a lot of speed. I think his speed is faster than Joshua," said Takam.

I have respect for Parker, I have respect for Joshua. For me, they are two good fighters, two good boxers, two good champions.

"Joshua is strong, but Parker's speed is faster than Joshua and we're going to see what is going to happen in the fight - speed or strength.

"For me, those two are the best. I have respect for Parker, I have respect for Joshua. For me, they are two good fighters, two good boxers, two good champions."
