Juan Francisco Estrada got his revenge over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai with a classy performance that saw him become WBC world super-flyweight champion

Juan Francisco Estrada exacted revenge over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai with a points win to claim the WBC super-flyweight title in their Los Angeles rematch.

The Mexican had endured a majority decision loss last February, but he expertly controlled the fight at range to earn a unanimous victory with scores of 116-112,115-113 and 15-113 at The Forum.

Starting at a high tempo, Estrada stamped his authority in the first round and a left hook briefly knocked Sor Rungvisai off balance.

Estrada was trying to dictate the fight at distance, finding the range with right hands in the second round, but Sor Rungvisai replied with a cuffing right hook.

The eye-catching work was coming from Estrada in the third as he sent in more accurate straight rights, and there was a look of concern from Sor Rungvisai after he was forced to withstand a cluster of punches in the fourth.

Estrada was enjoying himself, landing his right hand with regularity in the fifth and raised his gloves triumphantly at the bell, although Sor Rungvisai clubbed away with hooks in a rare moment of success in the sixth.

Sor Rungvisai fell to the canvas in the seventh, with the referee ruling it as a slip, but it was another one-sided round for Estrada, who answered with classy counters in the eighth.

Switching to a southpaw stance, Sor Rungvisai tried to find a telling hook during the ninth and he briefly stopped Estrada in his tracks with a crisp shot in the 10th.

This late assault from Sor Rungvisai continued into the 11th as Estrada was staggered by the ropes and both men traded from close quarters in a frenetic final round.
