Paul Hyland Jr will challenge Francesco Patera for the EBU European lightweight title in Italy on June 28.

Hyland Jr (20-1, 7 KOs) heads to Milan to take on the Belgian at the historic PalaLido, which has been rebuilt and renamed the Allianz Cloud.

The Belfast boxer has bounced back with two wins since suffering his sole career defeat when he was dropped and stopped by Lewis Ritson in the first round of a failed British title attempt last year.

Patera (20-1, 7 KOs) will make the second defence of the title he regained by securing a split-decision over Ritson on the Newcastle fighter's home turf in October.

Big-hitting Daniele Scardina (16-0, 14 KOs) will headline the Milan card when he puts his IBF international super-middleweight title on the line against fellow Italian Alessandro Goddi (35-4-1, 17 KOs.

"I'm delighted to be back in Milan for what is our strongest Matchroom Boxing Italy show to date," said promoter Eddie Hearn.

"The main event features an all Italian super-middleweight war between Scardina and Goddi and the impressive European lightweight champ Francesco Patera makes his second defence of his title against Belfast's popular Paul Hyland Jr."
