Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua press conference not 'confirmed' says AJ promoter Eddie Hearn | 'Wouldn't be one without us'

With so much uncertainty around the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight, even their first press conference has been thrown into doubt.

Fury and Joshua have a rivalry that's been more than a decade in the making. This week the fight was finally set for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, but within 48 hours of it being announced a promotional dispute erupted leading to mounting speculation that the mega-fight could be called off.

Fury and Joshua's first head-to-head press conference was due to take place on Wednesday. But that may not go ahead now.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports: "At the moment nothing confirmed for next week press conference wise."

As to whether Fury could hold one without Joshua and Hearn, the Matchroom promoter said: "With regards to are we expecting to be there, there wouldn't be one without us."

The announcement for the long-awaited Fury-AJ fight stated that Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh's The Ring and Dana White were staging the bout, although Hearn has publicly claimed the American promoter cannot be involved.

Speaking after Johnny Fisher's victory over Michael Pirotton on Saturday night, White revealed he was uncertain whether the Fury-AJ fight itself would still go ahead. As to whether Wednesday's press conference would happen, White said: "I have no idea."

He also didn't confirm whether he'd be in attendance himself. "I guess I'll leave that as a surprise," White said.
