Both fighters coming off maiden professional loss

Carl Froch's Super Six tournament fight against Arthur Abraham will take place in Monaco on October 2. Nottingham super-middleweight Froch was angered in the wake of his April points defeat by Mikkel Kessler in Denmark when it was suggested his next fight could also be staged outside the United Kingdom. Froch claimed there was an agreement that he would fight German-Armenian Abraham in Nottingham. Discussions between Hennessy Sports, who represent Froch, and Sauerland Event, the firm which promotes Abraham, have resulted in the decision to put on the fight in a neutral location, at the Chapiteau de l'Espace Fontvieille venue. "I'm training hard already for 'King' Arthur," Froch said. "Make no mistake about it, I fully appreciate the threat that Abraham presents to me in this fight. Whenever two warriors go into battle there will be bloodshed.

Prediction

"But there will be only one victor in Monaco and that will be The Cobra." Both fighters are coming off their first career defeats, with Abraham having been outfought and eventually disqualified against American Andre Dirrell in his second fight in the Super Six event. "I cannot wait to get back in the ring," Abraham said. I am thrilled that the date and the venue have been set. "I must admit that the disqualification against Dirrell still haunts me. Only a victory over Froch can put my mind at rest. "I was ringside when he fought against Kessler and I must say I was impressed with both men. They really fought their hearts out. "Froch is a hell of a fighter, but so am I. This will be the biggest, the most important fight of my career, and I will put on a special performance to please the boxing fans in Monaco, France, Germany, England, America and all over the world."
