Leicester bin man adamant he will clean up on his trip to the Far East
Rendall Munroe is even more confident he will become a world champion on October 24 after meeting his opponent Toshiaki Nishioka.
The two super-bantamweight rivals got to see each other up close at the WBC Night of Champions in Cardiff at the weekend.
Munroe will be bidding to take the WBC title from the Japanese fighter later this year when the pair go toe-to-toe at the Sumo Stadium in Tokyo.
And after having a good look at his rival the bin man from Leicester is adamant he will be flying home from the Far East as the new champion.
Nice man
"We get on well and he seems a nice man, but I grew in confidence after seeing him," he said. "I'm convinced the world title is mine.
"It is always tough fighting away, but once I get in a rhythm my size and strength will cause him non-stop problems."
Promoter Frank Maloney, who cut short his holiday in the Algarve to be at the event, praised Nishioka and his representatives for their professional approach.
However he also warned the current champion that Munroe - who has a 21-1 fight record - will not be fazed by fighting away from home.
"They were very humble and pleasant people and this is one fight that will not be overshadowed by trash talk," he said. "I have to say they are very professional people and I am sure there will be fair play when we travel.
"Going to Japan doesn't faze Rendall at all and he is the most laid back fighter I have worked with since Lennox Lewis."
