Light-heavyweights II take on a different dimension

The first Prizefighter of 2011 will be coming at you in a different dimension. That's because the second light-heavyweights tournament will be screened, for the first time, live in 3D on Sky Sports! Hot on the heels of the last super-featherweight slugfest, Matchroom Sport have lined up another eight hungry fighters all with their eyes on the £32,000 prize. They will battle it out from London's Olympia on Saturday, January 29. The biggest name on the bill is the former British super-middleweight champion Tony Dodson, while the eight-man line-up also includes four unbeaten fighters, and three more men looking to kickstart their careers. The fighters are aiming to keep their '0' and leapfrog the rest of the light-heavyweight division to a title shot are Travis Dickinson - younger brother of Cruiserweights II winner Jon-Lewis - former Wales amateur captain Llewellyn Davies, Kent fighter Menay Edwards and popular Romford man Billy Slate. With one fighter still to be confirmed, the remaining two slots will be taken by Joe Smyth of St Albans and Michael Banbula, the Surrey-based Pole unbeaten in his last five fights including a win over previous light-heavyweights champ Tony Oakey and a draw against Tony Jeffries that halted the Sunderland Olympic bronze medallists winning streak. The line-up is completed by Jack '13' Morris, who has a 4-1 record and works as a trainer with Cityboxer at The Ring Boxing Club in Southwark. "After the last cracking Prizefighter, we're excited to kick-start the year with the light-heavyweights division," said Matchroom managing director Eddie Hearn. "As always, there's an interesting mix of hungry fighters looking to use the series to catapult them to a title shot as we've seen so many times before. "We're also delighted that this will be the first ever Prizefighter event to be broadcast in 3D - which will literally add another dimension to another thrilling night of action." Tickets for the Prizefighter Light-Heavyweights II are on sale now, starting at £20 and £30, ringside tickets at £50 and £60, and VIP packages at £120 - call Matchroom Sport on 01277 359900.
