Bantamweight rivals Jamie McDonnell and Stuey Hall will go toe-to-toe at Doncaster Dome on September 3.
Doncaster man faces Darlington's Stuey for bragging rights
Jamie McDonnell and Stuey Hall will clash at the Doncaster Dome on September 3 in what will be British boxing's biggest bantamweight fight for years.
McDonnell, who has home advantage, is risking his European and Commonwealth titles while Darlington's Hall will put his British belt on the line.
The prospect of a mouthwatering clash is exemplified in promoter Frank Maloney's inability to call the fight.
"I cannot believe how well the tickets are going already, but that shouldn't surprise me," he said.
"Fans want 50-50 fights and I don't think there are many neutrals that would be confident predicting a winner.
"Stuey has been calling for this fight and Jamie has stepped up to the plate by agreeing to it.
"It is too early to say what awaits the winner, but that person would be in the world title shake up."
Bragging rights
Maloney has assembled a top undercard for the fight dubbed 'bragging rights' that is being screened
live on Sky Sports to kick off the new season.
Olympic bronze medalist Tony Jefferies is fighting for the first time since recovering from surgery to clear up scar tissue above his left eye, whilst Maloney also matches two unbeaten light-welterweight prospects in Joe Hughes and Chad Gaynor.
If that wasn't enough British super-featherweight champion Gary Sykes will box in a non-title fight, whilst Leed's Carl Johanneson meets Bradford's Femi Fehintola in a super-featherweight West Yorkshire derby.
