Scene set for the culmination of an epic trilogy
Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez both successfully made weight for their third meeting in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The great old rivals were both under the 144 lbs catchweight limit for their WBO welterweight title showdown at the MGM Grand.
Marquez, looking ripped and ready to rumble, tipped the scales at 142lbs, while defending champion Pacquiao was a pound heavier at 143.
Score to settle
The Mexican challenger, who admitted this is the biggest fight of his career, comes in with a score to settle after failing to get the decision in both previous meetings with Pacquiao.
In their first showdown back in 2004 Marquez was down three times in the opening round before coming back brilliantly to force a draw.
And in the second he dropped a wafer-thin decision to the brilliant Pacquiao in early 2008. Many judges had Marquez winning both bouts.
Since then of course Pacquiao (53-3-2) has gone up through the weights to sensational effect, crushing the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley to become boxing's best P4P fighter.
Marquez (53-5-1) meanwhile looked sluggish and out of his depth on his only previous trip north of 140lbs, a convincing decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr back in September 2009.
