Sky Sports News HD that Amir Khan's rematch with Lamont Peterson will take place in Las Vegas on May 19.
Peterson took the WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles in controversial circumstances in the first meeting of the pair on December 10 in Washington, with his opponent twice deducted a point by referee Joseph Cooper, who also opted not to score an early knockdown in Khan's favour, for pushing.
Khan appealed against the outcome and the WBA confirmed in January that they wanted their new champion to defend the belt against the Brit.
The saga continued when Peterson lodged "a comprehensive written appeal" of his own against the WBA's decision.
But Schaefer has now confirmed he has received a signed contract from Peterson for a rematch and the duo will get the chance to settle their differences in the ring at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
"We have a deal, we are all set," Schaefer told
Sky Sports News HD.
"This is going to be a big fight, and I mean a very, very big fight.
"The first fight was a terrific, all-action fight. There was a lot of controversy and questions surrounding this fight

"This one will hopefully clear up all those question marks. It's is going to be a big, big night for boxing.
"I'm happy that Lamont Peterson realised this is the fight the world of boxing wants.
"These two guys fighting each other again is going to be one of the biggest fights in any weight class which can be made."
The first fight was dogged in controversy, with Khan and his team unhappy with the involvement of IBF affiliate Mustafa Ameen at ringside.
However Schaefer insists there will be no repeat of the scenes from Washington.
He added: "(Security) will be very tight and Las Vegas is probably the best commission in the world and I know they are going to make sure that everything is going to be totally above board.
"I've already had conversations with the Las Vegas commision to make sure that it is going to be absolutely neutral ground for both fighters.
"We won't see any men in hats sitting at the scorers' table."
