Sunday 20 May 2012 01:37, UK
Read how the big fight unfolded as David Price knocked out Sam Sexton to win the British and Commonwealth titles.
We're at Aintree Racecourse - home of the Grand National - for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight title fight between David Price and Sam Sexton. The Norwich man has won the latter belt before but all eyes are on Price, who is bidding to become the first Liverpudlian to win the Lonsdale belt - on home soil too! Promoter Frank Maloney has called the Olympic bronze medallist a future world champion for some time and this, his 13th pro bout, is his first big test. Price is by far the bigger man and has stopped 10 of his 12 opponents, but don't underestimate Sexton, who had personal problems when he lost to Dereck Chisora and is back in great physical shape for this. It should be a cracker...if you can't follow the action live on Sky Sports HD 1 from 11.00pm, be sure to keep it here for all the latest news.... Okay, I think we're ready to rumble now. We've already seen one shock tonight - late stand in Darren Hamilton winning the British title against Ashley Theophane. Will we see Sexton pull off another against our 'great white hope?' 11.25pm Crowd being kept waiting, fighters still in the changing rooms. Everybody's patience being tested... 11.32pm Sexton enters the ring ahead of Price, who comes in to the sound of 'walk on, walk on'.... Boxers getting their last orders from the referee Howard Foster...here we go....
