Josesito Lopez has vowed to ruin Victor Ortiz's ambitious plans in Saturday night's welterweight clash, live on
Sky Sports.
Ortiz has already been lined up as a future opponent for Saul Alvarez, but first he must get past the little known Lopez in Los Angeles this weekend.
Lopez stepped in as a replacement after Andre Berto failed a drugs test and he is determined to punish Ortiz and his promoters Golden Boy for looking past him.
"I was a little surprised and not expecting that," he told fightnews.com.
"I found it disrespectful. I don't need anymore motivation for this fight, but I think it's a big mistake from Golden Boy to put a fight together.
No disrespect
"It's not going to be easy, but I want to go in there and spoil everything."
Ortiz insists he is fully aware of the threat posed by Lopez, but is confident he can pull off an explosive win.
"Josesito, I take nothing from him. He's a great fighter and I've been watching him as much as he's been watching me," he said.
"No disrespect on my end. We both plan to do one thing and that is to destroy each other."
