Ex-English champion confident of beating Borg
Danny Butler is determined to make the most of his comeback when he fights Frankie Borg for the vacant British super-middleweight title on Friday.
The ex-English champion has not fought since October 2011 and he is the underdog to secure the victory as he comes up against an unbeaten fighter in professional boxing.
Butler has now teamed up with trainer Andy O'Kane he is insists he will be much improved in the ring after revising his training methods.
The 24-year-old has 19 wins from 24 bouts and is confident of getting the better of Borg despite admitting the fight is a tough one in which to make his return.
Confident
"I'm determined to put the record straight," he told the
Bristol Post. "This is a fresh start for me and I feel I've matured and learned a lot in the last six months.
"My training and preparation is very different now and I'm concentrating on technique a lot more. I know this is a difficult fight to take for my comeback, but it is one I believe I can win.
"Coming back at championship level is a great opportunity and I aim to take it. I know I'm going into Borg's own back yard and that he has not been beaten before, but I am the one with the experience.
"I'm still only 24 and there is plenty of time for me to get back to the top level domestically and achieve the things I want to."
