European middleweight champion Grzegorz Proksa has earned a shot at WBA and IBO champion Gennady Golovkin. Proksa regained the European belt in a rematch with Kerry Hope after the latter had won a contentious points verdict earlier this year. And with WBO champ Dmitri Pirog falling by the wayside with a back injury, Proksa was in position to step in with the unbeaten Golovkin on September 1 in New York. "I have no doubt in my mind that I have the ability to knockout Golovkin," said the Surrey-based Pole. "My opportunity to showcase my talents to the world has arrived and I'm not going to let it slip away. "This will be a difficult fight but I believe in myself to come out victorious and I'm going to bring an aggressive game plan for the fans. I'm coming to the US to impress and take home the title."
