Bellew, a career-long light-heavyweight who lost to WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in his last fight, has chosen to move up to the 25lb higher weight limit in his bid to become world champion.
In Valery Brudov he meets another 'small' cruiserweight, the veteran Russian weighing just 13st 10lb - 8lb under the official 200lb limit - for their WBO international title clash in Liverpool.
Brudov fought for the WBO's interim title two years ago and a win for Bellew would give him a high ranking with the sanctioning body and tee him up for a possible tilt at champion Marco Huck.
"I just think it's time to show what got me a name," said the man known as the 'Bomber'. "People don't turn up to see a tickling contest, people don't turn up to see someone run away and win points for 12 rounds.
"People turn up because they want to see a fight and on Saturday night you are going to see a fight. This guy knows no way but forwards and I'm not afraid to mix and get stuck in."
Undefeated welterweight Kell Brook also weighed-in for his 10-rounder against Alvaro Robles of Mexico, the pair tipping the scales at 10st 11lb - 4lb above the official welterweight limit.
The clash will keep Brook busy ahead of his scheduled world title fight in the summer.
