Boxing: Kal Yafai v Herald Molina for IBF Inter-Continental title
Wednesday 10 September 2014 17:52, UK
Kal Yafai faces Herald Molina for the IBF Inter-Continental super-flyweight title at the SSE Arena Wembley on September 20, live on Sky Sports
The unbeaten 25-year-old from Birmingham has racked up eight knockouts in his 11 bouts and became Commonwealth champion last time out when he dispatched Yaqub Kareem inside three rounds in Leeds.
Yafai, who overcame a five-month absence out of the ring due to a torn bicep prior to that victory, is setting his sights on bigger prizes.
He said: "I want to win a world title at super-flyweight and I don't think that I am far away from achieving that.
"I came back from a long time out and won the Commonwealth title and I felt great and showed the injury has not affected my power. So if I can pick up another title and get some more rounds, I'll be in a great position to step up to world level sooner rather than later."
Yafai will be joining Matchroom Boxing stablemates Luke Campbell, Darren Hamilton, Martin J. Ward and Ricky Boylan as well as his younger brother Gamal in a star-studded supporting cast for the return of George Groves.
Tune in for Fight Night, September 20, Sky Sports.
