Amir Khan has been cleared to attend Floyd Mayweather’s rematch against Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas after resolving visa issues.
The Bolton fighter originally was denied permission to fly to the United States, ruining his plans to watch Mayweather from ringside on Saturday night.
He reportedly asked Prime Minister David Cameron for assistance in fast-tracking his application and expressed his gratitude on twitter after receiving the correct paperwork.
"Big thanks to Sajjad Karim @SHKMEP Conservative MEP European Parliament Member, for all the help on the visa. Finally I have my US visa," said Khan.
The 27-year-old former world champion was considered as a possible opponent for the American star before he instead opted to face Maidana in May.
Maidana landed a return bout after a hard fought points defeat in the first encounter and Khan remains hopeful that he will feature in Mayweather's future plans.
