Promoter Eddie Hearn is hopeful that Lee Selby’s world title shot against IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich will be staged in Britain.

The Welshman became mandatory challenger for the belt after his ninth-round stoppage of Joel Brunker at London's O2 Arena in October.

Since winning the title in 2013, Gradovich has made defences in America and China and Hearn has been holding talks aimed at luring the California-based Russian to these shores.

“We have already been in touch with Top Rank to make them an offer for a fight in the UK in the spring,” said Hearn.

“Either way I expect to confirm the fight in the next few weeks. We are keen to stage the fight here and I'm very confident Lee will become the IBF champion in his next fight.”
