Andre Dirrell is not concerned about giving James DeGale home advantage

Andre Dirrell insists he is willing to face James DeGale in Britain as talks continue about the planned world title clash.
The 31-year-old Michigan man is expected to challenge DeGale for the vacant IBF super-middleweight title after Carl Froch decided to vacate the belt.
Negotiations are still ongoing about the possible venue for the April 25 clash as Dirrell was initially reluctant to battle the Harlesden fighter at London’s O2 Arena.
But the 31-year-old appears to have softened his stance and hinted that DeGale could receive home advantage.
“That’s under negotiation. The most important thing is that I’m willing to be a world champion, whatever it takes,” Dirrell told Sky Sports.
“I’m chasing that world title, it’s been long enough. I’m ready to become world champion rightfully and I’ll be willing to do whatever it takes.”
Dirrell has mixed emotions about his last trip to these shores in 2009, which ended in a points defeat to Froch, the solitary loss on his record.
Despite lingering discontent about the verdict, the 31-year-old is confident he can win his second world title shot in convincing fashion.
“I’m definitely unhappy with the judges' decision last time, but that is no reason for me to be worried about coming there the second time around,” said Dirrell.
“I don’t want to base future situations on the past so all I have to do is come with a proper game plan and believe in myself. Wherever the fight may be, if it’s in Mars, Pluto, UK, China it doesn’t matter. I believe I’ll come out victorious.
“I do feel like I was unfairly treated there, but the fans were nonetheless great to me as individuals, but as a whole I saw how they pushed for Froch. I enjoyed myself very much in the UK.”
