Kell Brook plans to be ringside for Floyd Mayweather against Manny Pacquiao because he aspires to fighting the pound-for-pound greats.

The Sheffield puncher must first defend his IBF welterweight championship in his hometown's Motorpoint Arena against Jo Jo Dan on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 1 HD at 7.30pm.

But Britain’s most recent world champion has loftier ambitions and plans to attend the Las Vegas extravaganza when Mayweather and Pacquiao meet.

"Me and Eddie Hearn will be out there in Vegas, enjoying ourselves, watching that fight," Brook told Sky Sports.

"I want Mayweather. I want the best pound-for-pound fighter that everyone has titled him as. I want to fight the very best - I'm in my prime, I'm unbeaten, I'm world champion."

Brook believes this weekend's title defence against mandatory challenger Dan will provide the perfect springboard to attaining the super-fights that he craves.

It will be his first defence of the belt that he won from Shawn Porter in California last August.

He said: "He’s got a similar record to me, he’s only lost a couple of fights. He looks determined to get the world title but you don’t get easy fights when you’re the world champion.

"My music, my arena, my country - I am going to go in there and just enjoy it all. That’s what it’s about - we’re not going in there to have a boring fight. It's about looking exciting, it's about the fans going away and saying 'what a night that was'.

"I want momentum, I want big fights in the summer."

Kell Brook v Jo Jo Dan is live on Saturday night at 7.30pm on Sky Sports 1 HD.
