Tommy Coyle is thriving in the gym and 'has an aura about him' ahead of facing local rival Luke Campbell on August 1, says trainer Jamie Moore.

The 'Rumble on the Humber' sees Coyle (21-2-0-KO10) take on Olympic champion Campbell (11-0-0-KO9) at Craven Park live on Sky Sports, and Coyle's attitude to preparation has earned a bullish bulletin from Moore.

"He's absolutely flying," said Moore. "I've never seen him as dedicated and determined.

"Sometimes he's come in to camp heavy because he's got a bit of a sweet tooth but this time he was really light, already in good shape and has given himself the best platform to go off.

He could box now, that's how fit he is. We've got to be careful not to overdo it and he's given himself a lot of time to work on tactics.

"He could box now, that's how fit he is. We've got to be careful not to overdo it and he's given himself a lot of time to work on tactics because now we don't have to work on losing weight. He's given himself the best possible start to camp.

"A lot of people were asking if the needle was made up but you can't make that up. You could see from the way he pulled Luke on it at the press conference, that what Luke said upset him. They put it to bed there and then though.

"A fight like this might not mean massive things on the world stage but Hull is like a goldfish bowl and everyone knows each other. It's a huge event in that city and neither guy needs any extra motivation for this one.

"He's got an aura about him at the moment, Tommy, something I've never seen in him before. Pride's at stake and he knows he's up against it. Luke is a terrific fighter and he'll start as favourite and probably rightly so, but we've got the guy with more experience over 12 rounds.

"Tommy has proved himself in tough fights and Luke Campbell hasn't answered those questions yet, so we'll see.

"Luke is a clever fighter and he'll know how most people go about trying to beat him. Sometimes Tommy lets his heart rule his head but he can be clever and box to a gameplan. I'm not going to give the gameplan away but Luke being an unbelievable amateur will have nothing to do with this.

"I ended up training Tommy when Steve Wood asked me to train him for a big fight coming up. He lives in Hull. I live in Manchester. It was fate and him being similar to me attitude-wise in the ring is just coincidence.

"If there are three things you want going in to a ring it's heart, determination and a skill-set. Tommy's got all three. He might not be as skilled as Luke Campbell but there's not many in the world who are.

"There are lots of things that Luke's got to prove that Tommy already has."
