Guillermo Rigondeaux's camp has challenged WBO world featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko to get down to 124 pounds and fight the unbeaten Cuban.

Rigondeaux (15-0-KO10), who is the current WBA and WBO world super-bantamweight champion, was originally made an offer by Lomachenko's manager, Egis Klimas.

Graham Hyde - Rigondeaux's representative - appears to be keen to accept the proposal but on the condition that Lomachenko (4-1-KO2) steps down to a catchweight.

In an interview reported on boxingtalk.com, Hyde said: "Rigo will fight Lomachenko at a catchweight of 124 pounds, which should be no problem for Lomachenko because he weighed 125 pounds for one of his professional fights.

"Rigo is a small 122-pounder who could make 118 without much trouble, but he would be giving away size and weight advantages to face Lomachenko.

"We would [also] insist on a rehydration clause of 135 pounds for fight night. If Klimas agrees to this, then, we have a fight."

Rigondeaux was last in action in December when defending his titles against Hisashi Amagasa via an 11th-round stoppage while Lomachenko defended his belt against Gamalier Rodriguez with a ninth-round victory in May.
