Anthony Joshua will face the unbeaten Gary Cornish for the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title on September 12, live on Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old Olympic champion has raced to 13-0 in the professional game with 13 quick-fire knockouts and will return to The O2 to fight for his first major belt against Scotland's Cornish, who is promoted by Kellie Maloney.
'Highlander' is also unbeaten in his 21 fights to date and although he has fought primarily north of the border, three of his 12 knockout victories have come in London.
Watford's Joshua was last in action on May 30 when he wowed The O2 and Sky Sports' viewers by becoming the first man to stop, and subsequently retire, former world title challenger Kevin Johnson - needing less than two rounds to do so.
Dillian Whyte will no doubt be ringside doing some homework ahead of facing the winner in a British title clash this winter – but the Brixton heavyweight will be back in action himself soon enough having been added to the ‘Rumble on the Humber’ card featuring Luke Campbell vs Tommy Coyle in Hull on August 1.
A bumper O2 undercard provides cracking support, with Commonwealth light-welterweight champion Dave Ryan and John Wayne Hibbert returning to the site of their brutal battle in May for an eagerly-anticipated rematch.
