Jo Jo Dan has fought hard for his shot at IBF champion Kell Brook and will attempt to ruin the Sheffield fighter's homecoming on Saturday night.

Live Fight Night

The 33-year-old Romanian has based his career in Canada and should not be unsettled by another trip to unfamiliar shores for this weekend's clash with Brook in Sheffield, live on Sky Sports.

Since turning professional in 2004, Dan has claimed 34 victories, with just two narrow points defeats against the respected Selcuk Aydin in his opponent's home country of Turkey.

But the southpaw is used to winning on the road, picking up victories on his return to Romania, in New York, and even on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.

Following the first Aydin loss, Dan was pitted against the better known Steve Forbes, a former star of the reality show 'The Contender'.

Forbes had taken Oscar De La Hoya the distance in a world title defeat and was hoping to secure another major fight, but Dan derailed his lingering ambitions in 2011.

Utilising his longer reach, he was leading on all three cards when a nasty head clash caused the fight to be prematurely halted after the sixth round, resulting in a technical decision win for Dan.

Determined to avenge his contentious points loss to Aydin, he secured a rematch with the Turk later that year.

But his hopes of revenge were ruined by two knockdowns as the former European champion claimed a more convincing decision win.

Forced to rebuild, Dan racked up two quick wins before he was handed another career defining fight against unbeaten Canadian Kevin Bizier in 2013.

Jo Jo Dan said he is confident he can take Kell Brook's IBF welterweight title from him on the 28th of March, which will be live on Sky Sports

In a hard-fought encounter, he took a split decision victory over the home favourite, despite being harshly docked a point for holding in the 10th round.

A rematch was organised for last year, with many expecting Bizier to prevail, but Dan again sprung a surprise as he fought back to claim another split decision after being dropped in the seventh round.

During his demanding spell in the sport, Dan is used to having the odds stacked against him, and will be targeting his biggest upset against Brook.
