Taylor vs McCaskill: The Panel pick their similarities between Conor Benn and father Nigel

Conor Benn celebrates with his father Nigel Benn after beating Luke Keleher

Conor Benn is back in action at York Hall on Wednesday night, live on Sky Sports, as he continues to follow in father Nigel's footsteps. We asked The Panel to pick out one aspect of son's style that reminds them of his dad. And destruction was too obvious...

I am going to say it, but those chimes before the ringwalk go without saying and remind me of being a kid watching Nigel, but once he's in the ring Conor's head movement when he moves in on the attack, has me going back, it really does.

Those Big Ben chimes will have Benn fans reminiscing, including Moore

Of course, genetics play a part and I am sure he watched the old man's fights and there are so many similarities, but his almost jerky style, that sees him switch from left to right, then rolls and rolls. The head of course, leads it, and we can all see it and if you are old enough, close your eyes and you will see the dad doing exactly that.

When he attacks, simple as that. When he slips and slides in and moves forward on his front foot it's a mirror image of the old man. Nigel Benn used to do a little front-foot shuffle, a head-twitch, clap his hands together then go for it.

It is exactly what Conor Benn is doing. The genetic footprints have moved on a generation and even though he is still learning, there is a lot to like about him. He's in good hands with Tony Sims and he'll probably be technically better than his dad, so it is going to be great watching - even for me, who was a Chris Eubank Sr fan back in the day.

When Conor first started tearing through kids, that was just like his dad when he first came through. In hindsight, the best thing that ever happened to Conor was that injury. He had a long lay-off, was away from everything, just locked himself away in the gym and learned to be patient.

His footwork is so much better and I think he's a massively improved fighter. When he lets rip, he's still like his dad, he's got that ferociousness and that left hook. But right now, he's getting a lot more refined, he's learning to box more.

Nigel Benn believes Conor will become a better person than he was, in and outside the ring...

Johnny Nelson

He has the same crudeness that only his dad could create in the ring. Tony Bellew is and Naseem Hamed was, very good at it out of the ring, but find and found calmness in the ring. Not either of the Benn's, though.

Conor is more calculated but still as crude when it comes to the finish

Conor's is still learning and already I can see his crudeness is more calculated than his dad's, which was pure aggression, no matter who was in front of him. The son seems to think and plans it and that must be hard, but when he knows that chaos is about to open up, then it reminds us just what Nigel used to do.

Tony Bellew

Conor Benn very, very similar to his father and I can see he has studied Nigel, his moves, angles and he obviously has that vicious streak in him.

Comor Benn

He's a born finisher and provides entertainment and excitement from the first to last bell. I idolised his father growing up and we've never seen a fighter so dangerous, even when he was hurt himself. If he can achieve even half of what his father did then Conor will go down as a British boxing legend.
