Brian Rose is determined to avenge his controversial stoppage loss against Carson Jones this weekend. Will there be redemption or a repeat in Hull? The Panel - including some very welcome guests - has decided...

Glenn McCrory

Carson Jones has obviously got the confidence, he’s stopped him, but it was a little bit premature.

I thought the stoppage was premature the first time and I stated so. Obviously Brian Rose knows what he’s got to do - he’s taken the fight again. It’s a tough fight. Carson Jones has clearly got the confidence, he’s stopped him, even if it was too soon.

It’s all down to Rose now isn’t it, and I don’t think it will be a quick win for Jones this time. He’s going to have to work for it and I think if Rose gets into this fight, he could get the victory. He’s feeling comfortable, his team have taken the fight again and they obviously think they can do something. I’m going to go for Rose on a points win.

Kell Brook

It’s still going to be an exciting fight, because we know that Carson Jones is tough, durable and will be there all night.

It’s an interesting fight this one. I spoke to Rose’s trainer Bobby Rimmer when I went to his show and he was saying how well Brian is doing in sparring and training. We were going over certain things that Brian does and Bobby says he’s corrected them. The extra weight for this fight, those few pounds will be in his benefit.

It’s still going to be an exciting fight, because we know that Carson Jones is tough, durable and will be there all night. He’s going to be thinking that he’s beaten Brian before and will jump on him and try to do it again.

I see Brian winning the fight on points. He’s tall, he’s filled out and has been making the weight for a long time so those few extra pounds will benefit him. Like Bobby has been saying, if he’s been improving on the negative things he’s been doing, then I can see him beating Jones by outboxing him and keeping it long.

I've known him since we were kids and he's always had a fantastic jab and if he can control Carson Jones behind that jab, the fight is won.

I know for a fact that getting himself down to light-middleweight was a big issue for Brian and as this is at catchweight, he is far happier. That stoppage was controversial but I think it was a blessing in disguise, because for me, getting down to 11 stone took it right out of him.

I don't think he'd have been able to carry that on, but now he's got a new lease of life and I fancy him here. I've known him since we were kids and he's always had a fantastic jab and if he can control Carson Jones behind that jab, the fight is won. I can see Brian winning with a late stoppage.

Paul Smith

Brian has been knocked out worse than that before and bounced back so he’s no stranger to coming through bad times.

I can see Rose completely turning it around. The last fight was a premature stoppage – although I think Brian would have been stopped eventually – but it was too early and I don’t expect that to happen again.

Brian has been knocked out worse than that before and bounced back so he’s no stranger to coming through bad times. He’s not a better fighter this time but maybe he’s better prepared and hungrier.

Rose could stop him late on. I think he’ll break Jones’ heart and make him realise this won’t be like their first fight. But I’ll go for a points win for Rose, although I wouldn’t be surprised if he stops him.

Scott Quigg

I am not saying he took Jones lightly last time but he will have the fear that he might not have done last time.
Quigg on Rose

I believe last time the weight struggle had a big impact on Brian. He got shook quite badly and I just think those extra pounds will give him the advantage. Don't forget even then, he had Jones in all sorts of trouble early on.

We will see a different Brian Rose. I am not saying he took Jones lightly last time but he will have the fear that he might not have had last time. I can see Rose taking him out in the seventh or eighth round.
