Derek Chisora set his sights on the world's heavyweight elite after stopping Sam Sexton for a second time.
Cold can't stop Chisora setting his sights on the best
Derek Chisora is ready to take on the world after seeing off Sam Sexton again.
The British heavyweight champion added the Commonwealth strap with a high-octane ninth-round stoppage that took his record to 14 fights without defeat.
The pair surprised a packed LG Arena with a fast start and when they enivitably tired towards the end, Chisora pounced on his man to pummel his way to another excellent win.
A showdown with fellow unbeaten heavyweight hope Tyson Fury now beckons, but having seen Audley Harrison snatch himself a world-title shot at David Haye, the new Commonwealth king says he wants a piece of the pie, too.
"Of course I want to get to world level and the only way to do that is improve yourself," he told
Sky Box Office.
"I'm young, I'm getting better so I want to go on to world level - that's what I'm going to ask Frank (Warren) for!"
Chisora also revealed that his preparation had been disrupted by illness.
A cold had wrecked his final preparations but he was still certain he would have too much for a man he stopped in only his fourth professional bout back in June 2008.
"I didn't spar in the last week, but the fight was great," he said. "I hope everybody enjoyed it!"
"He wasn't going to out-last me. I knew that already and I was looking for him, I knew I was goint to catch him.
"In the first two rounds his jab was beautiful, but in the last two or three he was just pawing it out trying to score points.
"I knew if I'd get him, I could jump on him - and when I've got someone there, I know I can get them on the go and I got him on the go. But I took my time because a wounded animal is a very dangerous thing."
