Since my last blog a few months ago I have progressed loads with my shoulder.

I was just starting rehab in my last blog, with a little bit of shadow boxing involved. I have now started punching. There were times I thought the day wouldn’t come when I would be punching again and there’s no better feeling.

I thought my timing and technique would have been lost in the four months that I hadn’t punched for, but fortunately it wasn’t. I felt really comfortable and quite strong which I’m really happy with.

I’m not completely back into my full training routine; I’m slowly building up the training week by week. I'm still continuing with my rehab, I’ve aimed to keep full range with my shoulder, which I was told by the physios would be hard when I started punching because the muscles all around my shoulder would tighten up, so plenty of stretching and rehab is the key.

The next competition for me is the Europeans in May which will be held in Romania. This is what I’m aiming towards, to be ready to get back competing. I last boxed in November so I’m itching to get back in that ring.

Away from boxing I’ve been looking into starting a sport course, in what I don’t know yet. But finding the time to fit one in has been really hard and I’m in two minds because I don’t want to take too much on with all the training.
