Ringside: Amir Khan believes Devon Alexander is there for the taking

Amir Khan believes his Las Vegas opponent Devon Alexander “is not on the same level” as him.
The Bolton boxer will be live on Sky Sports 1 on December 13 and he told Ringside why he expects a successful night.
Khan believes his long list of attributes will overwhelm the outmatched Alexander at the MGM Grand on the Vegas strip.
“It’s going to be like a game of chess – hit and move. It’s whoever comes out stronger," he said.
“I have the better punch power and the better knock-out percentage. I have a little bit more experience, I believe, in this fight. So it’s going to be tough but it’s a fight that favours me more because if it becomes a boxing match I can out-box Devon. He’s a good boxer but he’s not on the same level as me.
“I feel strong at this 147 weight plus I have Virgil Hunter in my corner telling me what game-plan to stick to and what technique to use in the fight. I’ve got a great team around me as well so I’ve not missed anything out.”
Khan did acknowledge that Alexander, a former WBC and IBF light-welterweight champion and a former IBF welterweight champion, possesses a threat.
He continued: “Alexander’s a great fighter, he’s very tough and comes to fight. He’s southpaw, quite awkward, has good hands and a decent amount of power. So he’s very dangerous.
“He’s got a lot of experience under his belt, he’s a three-time world champion. Fighting for the title on a world stage, he’s tasted that before.
“I’m going to go in there and do everything I’ve learned.”
Khan v Alexander is live on Sky Sports 1 from 2am on Sunday December 14.
