Ricky Hatton's father Ray is confident his son can end Floyd Mayweather's unbeaten record when the pair fight for the WBC welterweight crown in Las Vegas on Saturday. Hatton Snr is proud of his son's exploits during his 43-fight unbeaten professional career and feels victory over Mayweather would be his greatest achievement yet. "I was proud the day he was born, I'm proud of everything he's done," he told Sky Sports News. "This time he wants to do it for the fans...(but) on this one occasion I think we can say 'Ricky, do it for yourself'."

'This is boxing'

But Mayweather's uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather - himself a former two-weight world champion - has seen nothing from Hatton to suggest an upset is on the cards. Mayweather has gained a reputation in recent fights for refusing to get involved at close quarters, but his trainer feels the self-styled 'Pretty Boy' is capable of defeating Hatton from both the outside and - if necessary - the inside. "It doesn't make no difference how he wins, he's just got to win," he said. "The name of the game is to win. "Ricky Hatton says 'Oh, I bet he won't stand toe-to-toe with me' - this is boxing, even if my nephew stands toe-to-toe with him what difference will it make? He won't hit my nephew with a bag of rice!"
