If you can't get revenge then retire, says Lennox

Lennox Lewis believes Ricky Hatton should retire. The last Briton to top the bill in Las Vegas says there is no point in the Hitman carrying on unless he knows he can meet - and beat - Floyd Mayweather again. Lewis, who was among the boxing greats ringside on Saturday night, hung up his gloves rather than meet Vitali Klitschko again, leaving the sport as undisputed heavyweight champ. But even though Hatton already has a lukewarm offer to fight Oscar de la Hoya and has said there is no way he is going to call it quits, the former heavyweight king believes his decision should be based on revenge. "Ricky now has to sit down and see how he wants to resurrect his career," he told The Sun. "But if it were me, if I didn't feel I could come back and beat Mayweather in a rematch then I would retire. "You can say Ricky tried his best but Floyd was the better man on the night. When you go up in weight like Ricky has from 140 to 147lbs, these guys can take your punches a lot easier and also hurt you. "No-one likes to lose and Rickty will get the chance to look at his performance. He's been boxing all his life and I don't think he has anything else to prove."
