Welshman hints at retirement as big names line up to face him

Joe Calzaghe admits he wants a massive challenge for his next fight - one that could well be his last. The WBC, WBA and WBO super-middleweight title holder is planning no more than two fights before he ends his 14-year career in the ring. One of those could be against Bernard Hopkins at light-heavy, meaning a step up in weight for the Welshman as he looks to finish with a flourish. As well as The Executioner, Jermain Taylor and Ronald Winky Wright have both expressed an interest in fighting the 35-year-old.

Motivation

"I have got two fights left - tops," he told the Daily Mirror. "I might even have one more and then decide to pack it all in and then get on with the rest of my life. Who knows? "There are plenty of other things I want to do. My next fight could definitely be my last. "I don't want to fight on for money. That's not the right motivation. I've achieved almost everything I wanted to achieve. "I need to have a goal, like Hopkins. It has to be something big to motivate me." Calzaghe has an unblemished 44-fight record as a professional, including a points victory over Dane Mikkel Kessler last time out.
