Klitschko vs Fury: Tyson Fury was phenomenal beating Wladimir Klitschko, says Carl Froch

Carl Froch has told the world they must now take the 'phenomenal' Tyson Fury seriously after his victory over Wladimir Klitschko.
Froch admitted he was one of many who didn't expect Fury to become the first fighter to beat the former champion in 11 years but made it clear it was anything but a fluke and for all his pre-fight antics, the 27-year-old now has to be taken seriously.
"He deserves all the credit in the world - from everybody," Froch told Sky Sports Box Office.
"He fought really, really well - out of his skin. He came in all week - even the last three months - believing in himself. He was confident.
"The Batman costume, all his antics, everything he's done in the build-up showed he believed in himself and tonight he showed it.
"Most people laugh at him and he is a little bit tongue-in-cheek and likes a sing-song - like the one he sang last night - all of us that used to laugh at him, now we've got to listen to him and take him seriously."
One of the few current fighters who predicted a Fury win was Deontay Wilder, the current WBC heavyweight champion.
Froch though made it quite clear that the British world champion could well unify the division.
"He is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world," said Froch.
"He hasn't got the WBC but I don't think anyone will doubt him taking that. He has done phenomenally well. Very, very well done to him."
Froch admitted that Klitschko (64-4-KO53) was nowhere near his best but refused to blame it on his 39 years.
Instead, he put it down to Fury and his trainer and uncle Peter Fury for implementing a gameplan that made the former world number one look bad.
"I don't want to take anything away from Tyson Fury by saying Klitschko was very poor because Fury made him poor," he said.
"He messed him up, taunted him and he made it messy. He implemented it from round one to 12 and deservedly won the title."
