Chris Eubank Jr says that not having Eubank Sr in his corner won't have any impact on him when he faces Spike O'Sullivan

Chris Eubank Jr insists the absence of his father from his training camp has not adversely affected his preparations for his WBA middleweight title eliminator against Spike O’Sullivan.

The pair clash at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Box Office, but Eubank Sr has not been around for the lion's share of his son's camp due to his participation in 'I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here'.

Asked whether his father's absence has affected his preparations, Eubank Jr told Sky Sports News HQ: "I wouldn't say so, no. I'm a professional. I've been doing this for four years now and I have been fighting as an amateur since I was 15 so I know how to prepare for a bout.

"My father obviously felt he had to go and do his thing in the jungle and entertain the British public and he left me to do my job which I am very capable of doing. I've got Ronnie Davis and Adam Booth watching over me so nothing has been amiss."

O'Sullivan blasted Eubank Sr for choosing to "go to the jungle and eat animal genitals over being with his son", but Eubank Jr insists he is not fazed by the Irishman's views.

"Everybody is entitled to their opinion but my father is his own man and I'm my own man and sometimes we both have to go our separate ways," he said.

"He's done his thing entertaining the British public over the last couple of weeks and I'm going to entertain the public on December 12."

This weekend's bill is headlined by Anthony Joshua's domestic heavyweight dust-up with old amateur foe Dillian Whyte but Eubank Jr says it is not the only grudge match on the O2 card.

"It's a stacked card and one of the most exciting British bills for a long time," he said. "The fans are in for a treat. It's a pleasure to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to stealing the show.

"It's going to be a barnstormer. The fight between me and Spike - or Gary as I like to call him - is a grudge match just like the Anthony Joshua fight is. When there are two fighters who genuinely don't like each other it makes for a very interesting spectacle, which all of you guys will see."
