Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg: Frampton predicts dominant victory
Thursday 25 February 2016 19:50, UK
Carl Frampton believes he will inflict such a comprehensive defeat on Scott Quigg on Saturday that there will be no appetite for a rematch.
The IBF super-bantamweight champion will take on WBA holder Quigg in a unification bout at Manchester Arena, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Neither fighter has tasted defeat in the professional ranks but Frampton is confident he will end Quigg's unbeaten record in emphatic fashion and dismiss any suggestions of a second fight.
"I believe this fight is going to be so one-sided, it will not justify a rematch. TV will not want it, Scott Quigg will not want it and we'll move on to bigger and better things," he told Sky Sports News HQ.
Frampton secured the IBF strap with a points victory over Kiko Martinez in September 2014 in front of 16,000 boisterous fans in a purpose-built outdoor arena in Belfast's Titanic Quarter.
But the 29-year-old feels the atmosphere at the Manchester Arena could surpass the scenes witnessed in his home city.
"It's huge, absolutely huge. The fight against Kiko Martinez was pretty spectacular," Frampton added.
"But, I imagine this is going to be every bit as good, if not a bit better. It's a huge occasion, a long time coming and I am excited now."
