Why Kell Brook is confident he can bully Gennady Golovkin

Kell Brook may seem "pleasant to be around" to his loved ones but is adamant his heavier diet spells bad news for Gennady Golovkin.

WBA Super, WBC and IBF world middleweight champion Golovkin (35-0-KO32) is favourite to defend his titles on his UK debut at The O2 - live on Sky Sports Box Office - but IBF world welterweight title-holder Brook (36-0-KO25) has warned his step up in weight is as dangerous for his opponent as it is serene for his girlfriend.

A smiling 'Special One' told Sky Sports: "I'm not ratty at all. My missus says I'm very pleasant to be around. I'm eating very well and I'm pushing myself every single day. I've got the fuel and I'm hydrated.

"This is my dream. No British fighter in history has got a win like this one. Every single day I'm pushing myself to get this win. I'm very confident and I'm big, strong and heavy. I'm ready to rip into Golovkin.

"I will find a way to win. These fighters who've been in with him have already lost before they went in. I've faced death in the face and this is fun to me.

In this fight I'm going to be able to do what I want when I want as often as I want.

"From round one, he's going to know he's in a fight. He's going to see the strength, determination and the will to win to capture all those belts that he's got.

"It gets very technical. I've been in the oxygen tents and I've been on the running machines. They've been pushing me. Very little oxygen is making my body produce more red blood cells and they're pushing me in fine detail."

Golovkin's phenomenal knockout record suggests he will be the one on the front foot while Brook attempts to utilise his natural speed, but the underdog has rubbished the notion he will be dictated to in the ring.

Ryan Rhodes said we haven't seen the best of Kell Brook

He added: "In this fight I'm going to be able to do what I want when I want as often as I want and people need to realise that when I get in there, I'm not concentrating on what Golovkin will do - I'm concentrating on doing what I want to do.

"They've been getting me on the weights and using the speed I've got. Over the weeks, I've been building more power. I've been faster in everything I'm doing. The results we are getting are phenomenal.

"This is my life. This means absolutely everything to me and I'm going to show the world on September 10 what I'm all about. I'm going to take those belts from Gennady Golovkin - believe you me."
