Kell Brook was almost five pounds heavier than Gennady Golovkin in the final WBC check-weigh on Friday.

Brook weighed 167.8lbs compared to Golovkin's 162.9lbs - they will complete the official weigh-in next Friday when both fighters must meet the 160lbs middleweight limit before the Sky Sports Box Office fight on September 10.

Brook was check-weighed by the British Boxing Board of Control in Sheffield while Golovkin underwent his measurements at Big Bear in California.

The IBF welterweight champion Brook might be jumping up two weight divisions to challenge for the unified middleweight titles but, not for the first time, his weight indicated that he will not forego a size advantage to the heavy-handed Golovkin.

Photos of Brook's new, fuller physique have forced Golovkin's camp to concede that the Sheffielder might be naturally larger.
