Brook vs Spence Jr: Kell Brook says win makes him No 1 welterweight

Kell Brook says victory over Errol Spence Jr in a "fight of the year" contender would make him the world's No 1 welterweight.
Brook will make good on a childhood prediction, made by his uncle, when he defends his IBF title at Sheffield's Bramall Lane on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
And the hometown boy believes defeating a challenger who arrives with an unbeaten record and a huge reputation would make him top dog in a division featuring the likes of Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia and the great Manny Pacquiao.
"Beating Errol Spence Jr puts me at No 1 spot in the welterweight division," Brook told Sky Sports News HQ. "Everybody knows then that I'm the man.
"I want to be remembered as the guy to fight everybody, who never ducked anybody and was involved in some great, great fights.
"This fight on Saturday night's going to be up there. I think it's a candidate for fight of the year because we're both passionate about wanting to win.
"He's the challenger and I want to keep it in the Steel City so we're going to get a thrilling fight."
Stubbornness saw Brook revert to 147lbs to defend his hard-won title after a jump of two divisions to seize a surprise shot at middleweight king Gennady Golovkin.
Brook's team were initially keen on a compromise campaign at light-middle, but the Special One is convinced he has shed the necessary pounds without harming his speed or punching power.
"I believe so," he said. "At this minute in time I feel good. I think we've got it right.
"My nutritionist Greg Marriott is meticulous with diet, I've been sparring bigger guys so I feel very healthy coming into this fight. I'm ready for it."
