Carlos Takam says he "always stays ready" for when opportunities arise and has done everything possible to give fans a great fight when he faces Anthony Joshua.
The France-based Cameroonian (35-3-1-27KO) replaced the injured Kubrat Pulev as mandatory challenger at a few weeks' notice, and will meet 'AJ' at Cardiff's Principality Stadium in front of 80,000 fans on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Despite the late call-up, Takam is confident he has done everything possible to prepare for IBF and WBA 'Super' champion Joshua.
"At this level, we are always ready. I have taken this great opportunity and have done what I can to be ready.
"We have done everything practically that we can do to give the fans a great fight.
"Twelve days is very short notice to get ready for an event of this magnitude, but I look forward to seeing what I can do.
"I really love the British fans, they are the real fans. In every sport, football, or any other, they are great and I love that, I hope to give them a great fight."
