James Tennyson claimed the European and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles after a comeback knockout victory over Martin J Ward.
The Belfast man was floored in the second round, but produced a determined response and halted Ward with a ferocious assault in the fifth round at The O2.
In the opening round, Ward had swiftly found his range with crisp combinations, and switched his punches smoothly from head to body.
There was more spite in Ward's work in the second and he received a warning for a low blow, but then dropped Tennyson with a crunching body shot, just before the bell.
Tennyson bravely charged out for the third round, trying to force Ward onto the back foot, and both fighters traded thudding shots at close quarters.
This relentless aggression from Tennyson started to trouble Ward, who was forced to hold in the fourth after his head was jolted back by a big left hook.
Tennyson then ended the fight in stunning fashion in the fifth as he dropped Ward with a brutal barrage, and referee Victor Loughlin stepped in as the Brentwood boxer wilted on the ropes after a follow-up assault from 'The Assassin.'
