There is only one answer about his future: David Haye should retire. 100 per cent.

Straight after the fight, I just went to see his mum and dad and told them to tell him to do the right thing and finish.

He was the undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world and then, to go on and win and be a heavyweight world champion, that says it all. But that has to be it now.

I don't like saying it but this has to be the end for him now. We have been friends for a long time and we have all been thrilled and entertained by his achievements, but I don't want to see this happen again.

People shouldn't forget that as a boxer he has given us more than we ever expected. David did things beyond the call of duty.

Tony Bellew stopped David Haye in the fifth round of their explosive rematch

When I saw him in the first fight it was very upsetting. It was horrible to see somebody who is such a fine athlete and - as Tony Bellew said - he is explosive and has explosive power and speed, but they both had gone.

Remember he went 10 rounds on one leg, but although there was nothing like the same injury problems this time, David couldn't rekindle the flame.

It is difficult to be too negative on David because they will take away a brilliant performance from Bellew. He boxed superbly.

He didn't have to trade but he was confident, so he did, and he knew that if he got hit by a shot he could ride it because he could see them coming.

Bellew knew he had more chance of landing his big left hook - which he did.
