UFC analyst Dan Hardy's diary on how Conor McGregor's confidence can unsettle Floyd Mayweather...
The confidence that McGregor brings is not something that we've seen in a Mayweather opponent before.
If you look down Mayweather's record at other people who were in McGregor's situation, you can only compare him to Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.
Conor thrives in these situations. If you put one camera on him, he's 10 per cent better. Put two cameras on him, and he's 20 per cent better. He's one of those fighters.
The more atmosphere in Vegas, the better Conor will be.
His mind moves so quickly. Every time Floyd said something during the press tour, then walked away, Conor shut him down straight away.
Conor's quick-thinking has brought him to the forefront of MMA. He's destroyed every opponent before they even step into the octagon.
I like to look at fighters in the build-up - on the scales, in the face-off, directly before the fight. Plenty of times before a McGregor fight I've looked at his opponent and thought: 'they are already beaten'.
That's the aura that McGregor brings to the table, and I don't think anybody has brought that aura to a Mayweather fight before.
That will be unsettling to Mayweather. When opponents have fought him before, you walk out into a Mayweather production. But McGregor has taken over this production. Watch the press tour - McGregor commands the crowd, and that changes everything because the momentum transfers over to your side.
