Conor McGregor is set to wear Everlast gloves against Floyd Mayweather.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission are ready to rubber-stamp each fighters' choice of 8oz gloves at Friday's weigh-ins.

"[McGregor] is wearing Everlast," NSAC chief Bob Bennett exclusively told Sky Sports.

"They have been approved, yes. We inspect the gloves, and weigh the gloves, for Conor and Floyd. We're ready to go.

"They pick a primary pair and an alternate pair. They can look [at each's others gloves] but they can't touch them. That's our job."

McGregor: 'He's out of shape'

McGregor's manager Audie Attar told Sky Sports: "It's the glove that feels most comfortable with. Ultimately it's about performance because we're not going in there just to walk.

"He just likes Everlast. They are a brand that have proven to be top class. He absolutely [tested other gloves before deciding]."

Mayweather will wear his usual Grant gloves but would have been content if McGregor chose an identical pair, according to the brand's owner.

Mayweather: 'Weight doesn't win fights'

"It would have been fine," Elvis Grant Phillips told Sky Sports. "Floyd doesn't care either way.

"It would have been safe for both sides. I don't know [what brand] Conor will wear."

Asked about Mayweather's history of hand injuries, Phillips added: "His hands will be protected so he can do what he needs to do. He won't hurt his hands wearing the best gloves in the world."
