Scot's suspension will remain in place until end of January 2009

Former WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison has been rebuffed in his attempts to regain his boxing licence. The troubled Glaswegian attended a hearing on Tuesday at the British Boxing Board of Control's offices in Cardiff. Despite legal representation, his bid was turned down and his suspension, which runs until the end of January 2009, will remain in force. Harrison saw his licence revoked after being found guilty of "bringing the sport into disrepute". The 30-year-old Scot, who served time in a Spanish jail in 2006, has had a series of run-ins with the police and has also battled an alcohol problem.
