The contest went to the cards, and with Clottey claiming the decision, the Ghanian instantly put himself in line for a re-match with WBA title holder Antonio Margarito. However, the new champion reportedly suffered a torn bicep during the win, meaning it is unlikely he will be able to defend the title or bid to unify the belts anytime this year. It leaves the door open for Judah and a possible re-match while a match-up with Margarito is not out of the question, providing the eye injury heals quickly. But Judah's once sky-high reputation is in tatters with the 30-year-old seemingly unable to arrest the slide since losing his undisputed welterwight titles to Carlos Baldomir in 2005. Subsequent losses to Floyd Mayweather and Manuel Cotto have left him short of bargaining tools, although paymasters HBO will almost certainly be able to engineer him another title shot.
