We let YOU put the Hitman on the spot

Ricky Hatton has taken time out from training to answer YOUR questions. The Hitman may be living in Las Vegas like a monk ahead of his light-welterweight showdown with Paulie Malignaggi, but he still took time out for his fans. We asked you to ask Ricky anything and sent him the 10 we considered the best. And Ricky being Ricky, he has not dodged a single one! To see if your question made it through and what the Hitman had to say about all manner of subjects, scroll down... FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Ricky, with Kerry not at your side now to deal with your diet and to give you his 'special shakes', is your diet still the same, or have you changed it? Tony Redican
RICKY SAYS:
I was with Kerry a long time and I am grateful for all his help, Tony. In that time working with him I learned a lot from him about nutrition and diet. Now, I know my own body and just what to do - but I can assure you, Kerry is only on the end of a phone if I need him! FIRST IS THE WORST
How did you react when you lost your first ever boxing match way back in the amatuers and what age were you when this happened? Matt Woodall
RICKY SAYS:
That's taking me back, Matt! I lost my first fight when I was about 11 years old. I had only fought about five times and afterwards, I really thought my world had come to an end. It was awful. I was gutted. There's not much more to add! JOB FOR THE BOY?
I would like to ask Ricky if he had never taken up boxing, what career path does he think he might have taken instead? Mervyn Marshall
RICKY SAYS:
If I'm honest, I don't know what I would have done. I was on Manchester City's books as a kid so you never know what could have happened there. But I would probably have ended up a carpet fitter working in my dad's shop. THE GOLDEN TICKET
Hi Ricky - huge fan here, and good luck with the fight, but I have to ask... this is a very risky fight, and a huge money mega-fight with Oscar De La Hoya or Manny Pacquiao will be waiting for you should you win. Why take this fight when you could have easily fought either Oscar or Manny right now, for much bigger rewards? Gareth Hallam
RICKY SAYS:
Paulie is the number two light-welterweight in the world and I am the number one Gareth, so a fight between us was always a natural. I signed to fight Paulie earlier in the year and as part of the deal Paulie fought Lovemore N'Dou at Manchester City's ground on the same night I fought Juan Lazcano. I was already contracted to fight Paulie when I was offered the fight with Oscar. But if all goes well Saturday a fight with Manny or Oscar could still happen sometime next year. REALITY BITES
Ricky, would you ever consider going on Strictly Come Dancing or I'm A Celebrity. Barry McGuigan won Hell's Kitchen, if you're looking for inspiration!! Sure now Floyd Snr's in charge, you can dance!? Sylvie Ward
RICKY SAYS:
I have been offered shows like celebrity dancing and ice skating in the past, I have to admit. It is great to be considered for these shows but I turned them down. It's just not for me, I'm afraid. RETURN OF THE MANC
Hi Ricky, I have followed you all the way to the very top, but can't make it out for this one - good luck pal, I know you'll do us proud. But what I wanted to know is that with all the talk of Oscar at Wembley, are we ever gonna see you fighting back in Manchester again? Jimmy Stanley
RICKY SAYS:
Like you said Jimmy, there's lots of talk. I would maybe like to fight in Manchester again before I retire but let's get Saturday out of the way first before we talk about my next fight! FRY AND DRY
Hey Ricky. I was wondering if the fry-up is still allowed the morning of the fight? Do you have any other superstitions that you always go through on fight night, or any lucky charms you take into the ring with you? Brandon Boateng
RICKY SAYS:
I'm not superstitious mate no, never have been. I can still eat a fry-up but they're just not the same out here in America, you know. So I will be having plain old porridge for my breakfast the day of the fight. CHIP OFF THE OLD ROCK
I was reading your Fight Diary the other day on the website and I remember your young lad Campbell was a mad wrestling fan. Does that mean he has got his old man's fighting instincts and would you like him to go into boxing, or would you not let him follow your footsteps? Tom Harper
RICKY SAYS:
Yes Tom, he does like the wrestling but I don't see him as a fighter. He wants to be a rock star! He's into music at the moment, he has his own guitar and he likes to play Oasis songs. I know I'm biased as his dad, but he is pretty good at it too! He's only eight though so who knows what might happen? If he did want to box, I would support him. THE TWILIGHT MOAN
Ricky, does it bother you that at people are saying you are in the 'twilight' of your career, at just 29 years of age when the likes of Bernard Hopkins still fight at the highest level at 43? Also, do you believe the lifestyle you lead outside of the ring will start to catch up with you soon? Tom Hughes
RICKY SAYS:
No Tom, I'm not really bothered. The same people said that Arturo Gatti and Marco Antonio Barrera were past it years ago. Where would they have been now if they had listened to the critics? I have been training hard with Floyd Mayweather Snr and if the training is anything to go by, hopefully you will see an improved Ricky Hatton on Saturday night. Who knows how long I could go on? THE BOY FROM BRAZIL
Ricky have you met Robinho? Do you know if he likes boxing? And what do you make of City's multimillionaire owners? Can't be bad eh? C'mon City! Gavin McLoughlan
RICKY SAYS:
No I have not met Robinho yet so I don't know if he is a boxing fan. I think that the new owners are doing a good job so far, it's just going to take a little time for the team to settle in.
