Undisputed light-heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe has admitted that he will "probably retire" in the New Year. Speculation has been rife over Calzaghe's plans since his victory against Roy Jones Jnr. Chad Dawson and Carl Froch are among those keen to see the undefeated Welshman fight on, while Jones and Bernard Hopkins are both chasing rematches. However Calzaghe, who has won all 46 of his fight, looks sets set to hang up his gloves next year. Calzaghe said: "I will make my final decision after the New Year, but I will probably retire." He added: "I am going to relax over Christmas with by family and take a few more months to decide because when I retire I want to stay retired. I don't want to be one of these fighters who says, 'Yeah I am going to retire' and then comes back." The two-weight world champion was called out by new WBC super-middleweight champion Froch on Saturday, but the 36-year-old is unlikely to take the bait. Calzaghe added: "He has to join a list at the end of the day. There is probably a list of about 50 people that want to fight me at the moment. I said after I beat Mikkel Kessler that I was only going to fight the big names and the legends. "Okay he has won the WBC belt but that was the title I gave up and the guy he beat wasn't world champion and nowhere near world champion. I think it was a decent performance but he is a long way from securing a fight with me."
