Rogan to defend Commonwealth title in Belfast

James DeGale, Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders will return to the ring for their second professional fights on May 15. The trio, who all eased through their pro debuts in Birmingham in February, will fight on the undercard of Martin Rogan's first Commonwealth heavyweight title defence. Former Prizefighter champion Rogan remains undefeated after knocking out Matt Skelton in 11 rounds last time out to win the belt. Promoter Frank Warren is expecting another quality night of action at Belfast's Odyssey Arena. "It has been pushed back a week because of television scheduling," Warren said. "Belfast is a great fight city, and I am delighted to be staging another show there. The fans are among the most passionate in the world, and they will be in for a treat on May 15. "Martin Rogan was involved in one of the best heavyweight fights I've seen for years when he beat Matt Skelton in February, and I'm really looking forward to watching his first defence. "And DeGale, Gavin and Saunders are all very exciting young fighters who are destined for the very top."
