Left Hook looking for KO

Jeff Lacy has told Roy Jones Jr he is going to knock him out, when they meet at light-heavyweight on August 15.
Jeff Lacy is vowing to knock out Roy Jones Jr. The pair, both victims of the retired Joe Calzaghe, will meet at light-heavyweight in Biloxi, Mississippi on August 15. And although they are both past their prime, Left Hook Lacy is promising to roll back the years with an explosive display - which he says, means an early night for the former pound-for-pound king. "I'm a puncher and if Roy says it's not going to go twelve, then so be it!" he said. "With the way I feel right now I agree with Roy, this fight won't go the distance. I plan on bringing everything into the ring August 15th. "The fight will end in a KO and Roy will not hear the last bell." Jones was KO'd in back-to-back fights with Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson in 2004 and was never the same fighter again. He did return to the ring to take Calzaghe the distance in his final fight last November, while Lacy is also rebuilding his career after being dismantled by the Welshman in 2006. He has failed to stop any of his five opponents since, including a points loss to Jermain Taylor, but says he is capable of doing more damage to Jones Jr's flagging reputation "Neither Tarver nor Johnson hit as hard as I do!" he said. "This fight is a huge challenge for me and it is a huge challenge for Roy. He knows that, too. "I am very motivated by this fight and I've been training very hard for Jones and I'll be coming to Biloxi in the best shape of my life."
